We open on up on me going to pick up something refreshing from Phil’ip’s cellars after one of my high energy yoga classes… My sincerest apologies to Phil’ip for wasting his time. In hindsight, maybe I should have just gone to Kale Kale Kale to get a broccoli, carrot and ginger jam smoothie with some bee pollen and chia seeds. Oh well, I’ll know for next time. Sorry Phil’ip.
Every year Justin and I have an enormous party to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this year we are pulling out all the stops. The first stop is in Balmain with the kids where we’re planning to pick up a locally crafted artisan marble cheese board for our Blanco Party. We built up enough carbon credits to drive the Prius to Balmain and back. Justin was really nervous about the drive though, so I made sure we stopped for fresh kale chips and coconut water. It helped.
The drive there was ok. I love the Bilgola Bends. Although as soon as you get on the Wakehurst Parkway and get closer to the city, people seem to lose their minds behind the wheel of a car. Everyone is stressed. Stressed, stressed, stressed. It’s not good for you to be so wound up. All the swerving, shouting and beeping was very intense. Nothing compared to the 4 lanes of traffic on both sides of the Harbour Bridge. I mean, what’s going on there? Is there really a need for 4 lanes either side? I was in a state of shock. I had to do a quick deep breathing exercise to centre myself before we got into Balmain. Justin wasn’t sure if he’d changed the Prius Hepa filter so we put the air on recycle and locked the doors.
Balmain is interesting. We saw some taxi’s, a lot of pubs and an awkwardly long kiss between my husband and his friend Adam… I keep wondering how long they’ve known each other for. Maybe Adam’s been in Europe too long? Interesting couple. Adam made our hand crafted artisan marble cheeseboard. I don’t think we’ll be going back for a while.
