Welcome to my first blog. It has taken me a few months to get my site up and going because I created it myself. Well, I didn't create the coding infrastructure, but I sure did learn how to change the coding.
So, to kick my first blog off, I've had a couple of auditions this month. I love acting so much. But I have to say that I enjoy auditioning for 2 reasons: 1) the possibility of getting the job, and 2) the opportunity of performing a piece of work and leaving. It's great when you book the job but it's not everything. I recently had the opportunity to perform a monologue from a play I've read so many times it's ridiculous. I've performed it before, but this time I put my own flavour on it because I wanted to make this character really likeable. Once I established that, I then shattered the image of the character by continuing on with the piece, which includes her admitting to bad choices. It was fun.
Speaking of fun, I'm a self confessed chocoholic and this week my favourite block is the new Cadbury Dairy Milk "Marvellous Creat!ons Jelly Popping Candy Beanies". It's amazing! There's nothing like the sweet taste of chocolate, jelly beans and popping candy jumping around your mouth like a fun festival to distract you from thinking. It's hard to take people seriously when I'm eating it because there's just too much happening in my mouth. What can I say, I'm a fan. Thank you Cadbury Dairy Milk, you've made my week tasty. I also managed to get a shock horror response from my colleagues when I admitted I'd eaten a whole block of it by myself. I exercise, so it's all good.
I've also been watching a few television shows and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the scripted shows. In terms of reality TV, I'm a big fan of The Voice because it's something very special to watch. But on the scripted screens I'm really enjoying Offspring, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Revenge, Glee (cause I have a friend on the show and he's just too awesome for words), New Girl, Homeland, Downton Abbey and Damages. The list can go on and on, but since this is a somewhat small blog... I digress. I'm enjoying the content and quality of each of the shows. The only problem is that I've been watching so much TV lately that my week seems to be filled with an episode of something each night. I have to say, I rarely watched TV until I moved into my new apartment. I have no idea what the catalyst was, but I'm expanding my viewing horizons nonetheless.
Also, every week I attend a Buddhism class at my sangha and each time my love for the Dharma just grows and grows. I had a particularly good time at my last class. We kind of had a pop quiz. It was almost like a game show because one instructor is very lively, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the class got to see my competitive side. It's not a bad side, unless I'm playing Taboo or sport... I'm happy II got to test myself about what I've learned over the past year and even though there were some 'almost right' answers, it was fun to get the answers out.
Well thank you for taking the time to read my blog. May you be happy, may you be well and may you be safe.
