single date #4
Looks like there's no early morning kitchen preamble with 15 ladies to find out that Sophie has date number 4 with Badgie. Instead, we land straight on the beach with Badgie going for a run on the sand. I get what they're trying to do, but Badgie's hair is a little bit too Dulux dog than Fabio in this moment. It's very funny and I think it just adds to his colourfully Australian character.
Meanwhile Sophie, dressed in Hampton's chic, is waiting on the beach for Badgie. But wait, she has to get out her *cough* perfectly placed *cough* 'Blistex' lip conditioner to smooth her already camera perfect lips (in case she wants a career in ads after this) before she goes on the date.
So much for Hampton's chic. They go on a sailing date in some pretty heavy duty protective gear. Sophie's guessing it's dangerous because of the amount of padding she's wearing... Yeah, I hope they got her to sign the indemnity clause because they nearly get tossed off the super fast wind / water device (not sure what it's called, but it's really really fast and can pull you out of the water while going a brisk 80kms p/hr).
After a few near misses, they finally make it back to shore for the scheduled cheese board and wine chat on an overly stuffed couch. They talk about that yoga shoot sesh they did an episode or two ago (I can't remember now). Badgie wants to know why Sophie wasn't giving him much eye contact and finds out that Sophie was very nervous and subject to the elements around her. He sort of gets it and then we get a lot of reactionary shots of them both smiling at each other aaaaand then they're pashing each other's faces off. PS. I think this is the kiss that Romy wishes she'd gotten. Sophie gets a rose! Which means we're about to move onto the drama drama group date yay!!

drama drama group date #4
All aboard the insecure express to group date number 4, which I have been looking forward to since last Thursday... Yes, I'm avoiding the season finale of Younger right now because I don't want it to be over so soon. Seriously, 12 eps of a 20 minute show per season, where is the budget going?? Sorry, back to Badgie...
So Alisha has no clue what's going on (BS she doesn't). I hate being goaded by the girls from Porpoise Spit. Thank goodness Osher steps in to tell us what this group date - sans Nick - is all about. It's time to meet Papa Badgie, his sister (Bernadette) and his brother (Jacob).
Cass immediately recognises Jacob and mentions meeting him to Sophie. Sophie to camera is all like 'WTF?'... Jacob recognises Cass and mentions to camera that Badgie brought her up to the Goldie for a surf about a year ago and that they have history. He seems like a good egg. And then we meet Papa Badgie, who is just the older version of him with a slightly deeper voice.
Production hand out all the alcohol and scatter the family amongst the ladies. Romy chats with Papa Badgie and, if you close your eyes, it's almost like the date she went on with Badgie before. Look out Papa Badgie, she's been known to maul a bloke's neck... Oh good, he's asked her what she does. Romy explains that she's a fashion shoot director and has her own business, so yeah. K.
Bernadette doesn't miss a beat. She's already sat down with Brooke and picked her as the loveliest lady in the group, closely followed by Brittany. I'm telling you - Top 2! Bernadette is now sniffing out what the deal is with Cat, and she ends up getting annoyed Cat instead of the I'm a perfect girl routine.
Cass has a really good chat with Jacob. He gives her some great advice about keeping her history with Badgie up her sleeve. He sees the difficult position she's in, but says it's the right place to put everything on the line for love. I really want to see what Cass and Badgie have together. I bet you it's a lot more than what the editing room are showing us.
Aaaaand now it's Romy's turn for a chat with Bernadette. She's going on and on about how Cass isn't right for Nick, how immature she is, how she was already in love with him before she arrived, how she's not coping in the house, etc, etc. It's everything I thought the editing room would deliver and more! Because Blair has overheard everything from her bedroom window and is going to spill faster than a PM's leadership... I still can't believe that Romy is spewing all this negativity to the woman she's hoping will accept her into "the family". Romy is "really good with families" (not) and wants to win the dinner date with the Cummins family. So does everyone babe. But Brooke gets chosen! I love that Papa Badgie spots how real Brooke is being in a very surreal situation. Hats off to her. It looked like a really lovely dinner too.
However, back over at Bachie Manor we have Romy, Cat and Alisha confronting Blair in front of Brittany and Cass. Romy is furious about being thrown under the bus (for throwing Cass under the bus). Guys she was having a "private conversation" ... Nuh uh girl. That was filmed for a national television audience. There was nothing private about that conversation. You know what you did. We all saw what you did. You just went full mean girl on a girl who has history (that you have no idea about) with Badgie. What I then found very refreshing was Cass calming the whole situation down by saying that everyone should stop speaking badly about each other and just move on. You go girl!! But I have to ask, is anyone else realising how badly Production are trying to get her to do more singular camera spots? #SuperFlustered #Uncomfortable #Selfconscious
Now I'm intrigued to see what's going to happen at the rose ceremony...

Rose ceremony #4
Badgie strolls in and takes a few girls for chats. Cass decides that it's time to ask him if he feels anything at all for her because getting the last rose made her feel like crap. Understandably. He isn't able to give the same level of feelings that she has, but he wants to see where things could go. I really hope she gets a chance. She, like all the ladies in the house, deserves one.
The mean girl group still don't understand what the connection between them is. Did they date? Didn't they? Why isn't Cass spilling her innermost secrets? Hmm because it's none of their business! Perhaps stop trying to pump the poor girl for information and maybe use that time better by signing up to an etiquette school. Also, if you're really into fashion, maybe double check what season you are because I'm not feeling that the bright yellow and white striped shirt paired with a bright red lip is working.
Finally Osher's back! In he walks, looking v stylish again, to help divvy out the roses. Half way through Badgie gives Cass a rose. Yes thank you Jesus!! It gets down to the wire and the last 2 standing are Blair and Cat. Production give us a snapshot into what both Blair and Cat are thinking. From Blair we hear her wishing she got to know more about Badgie because he hadn't given her a shot. Meanwhile Cat is super pissed about being in the bottom 2.
Me talking at my laptop to a non-changeable event: **Please give Blair the rose! Please give Blair the rose!**
And he gives the rose to Cat... Ugh. Production are clearly going to milk the drama this trio brings. What's really nasty to watch is the camera panning to Romy and hearing her voiceover: "Bye, don't come back!" as Blair leaves. Seriously Production are you trying to get these 3 women lynched in the parking lot of Bachie Manor? Because if you keep editing them like this, that's exactly what's going to happen.
Then again ladies, if you're going to behave like that and you sign up for a show like this then you'd better get ready for, oh what's that thing called again... Oh that's right, consequences (c/- karmic cause and effect).
I wonder what's going to happen on the next episode of The Badgelor.
